Abstract
Tracheoesophageal fistula coexist with esophageal atresia in about 90% of the times. The incidence of tracheoesophageal fistula is variable according to investigators but it only occurs in one out of 2,500 to 3,000. The incidence of
bronchoesophageal
fistula is far less than the incidence of tracheoesophageal fistula.
For this study, we had a 12 years old female patient with bronchoesophageal fistula which was found during right middle lobectomy due to atelectasis.
After bronchoesophageal fistulectomy, the vital signs of the patient were corrected to normal range.
We think this fistula is a variant of Gross E type.
